Egg Group Listing

Since breeding is an important aspect of the pokémon world, the Egg Group a pokémon belongs to is one of the information you will find in the SuperDex. In some occassions, however, you'll notice that the name of the Egg Group is slightly different than you're used to. PF has changed some of the names of the Egg Groups, so that it fits the pokémon in it somewhat better - or, as was the case with the Water Egg Groups, to give it a more original name. Below you will find a list of the Egg Groups, along with a description of the pokémon belonging to the group.

Amphibious
The pokémon in this group are capable of living both in or near watery spots and on the land. Amongst them are Squirtle, Wingull and Slowpoke.

Avian
The pokémon in this group are all gifted with a beak and wings (or as is the case with Zubat and Aerodactyl, just wings). Most of them can be found flying through the air, but don't expect Doduo to come flying by.

Draconic
All of the pokémon in this Egg Group are either Dragon-types, or at least somewhat look like a dragon. Examples are Dratini, Charmander and Ekans.

Fairy
The pokémon in this group tend to be cute and small. Several might float happily around, like Hoppip and Togetic, while it is said that Clefairy came from the moon.

Humanshape
Here you will find pokémon that have a general body-structure that is somewhat comparable with the structure of the human body. Therefore, Kadabra is capable of holding a spoon.

Indeterminate
What these pokémon actually are, or consist of, remains unknown, as is the case with Grimer and Ghastly.

Insectoid
The pokémon you find here either have scary stings, many legs or insect-wings - or they are a cocoon. Amongst them are Weedle, Wheatvil, Transquito and Metapod.

Invertebrate
These pokémon either consist of jelly, or of hard shells. Tentacool and various fossils belong to this group.

Mineral
The body of the pokémon in this group are composed of rocky, crystalline materials in one form or another, like Onix or Glalie.

Monster
The pokémon in this Egg Group apparently all look scary enough to call them 'monster'. Examples would be Charizard, Exploud and Tyranitar, but their cuter family members belong here as well.

Piscine
The pokémon in this group all share a fish-like appearance. Chinchou, Goldeen and Qwilfish are to be found here.

Plant
The pokémon in this group are either a plant itself (like Bellsprout), partially plant (like Bulbasaur), or at least covered with plant-like material (like Oddish).

Terrestrial
These pokémon are found in the wide open fields, forests, deserts or other locations on the land. Examples are Cyndaquil, Skench, Mareep and Numel.

Virtual
The pokémon in this group are generally found within cyberspace. PF has its own fairly amount of pokémon that can be found in the realm of virtual reality.

Ditto
Ditto is the only pokémon that is able to breed with any other pokémon and therefore has its own group. Please note that some of the pokémon of the above groups are genderless; those pokémon have their own unique method of reproduction and are therefore only capable of breeding with Ditto.

No Eggs
These pokémon either are too young to breed, like pokémon such as Pichu and Tyrogue, or are legendary non-breeding pokémon that just come into existence, such as Moltres, Suicune or Celebi.
